We quickly realised we were in the safest of hands and cannot thank O’Neill enough for everything.Ī useful note - We got Oneil’s details from our hotel reception and emailed him directly to arrange the trip - this proved to be considerably cheaper than booking through an agent and O’Neill got back to us within 24 next time O’Neill Mulraine.About Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLCįounded in 1976 to provide independent brokerages with a powerful marketing and referral program for luxury listings, the Sotheby's International Realty network was designed to connect the finest independent real estate companies to the most prestigious clientele in the world. It has to be said we enjoyed O’Neill’s company and the security he provided, as much as forest, the trail and the summit. He had a perfect sense of when to stop us for to rest and gently move us on again, providing the perfect pace. Along the way, he chatted to us about the mountain, the plants and the animals. On the trail, we were expertly guided every step of the way (safely up and down the mountain) by O’Neill - a 66 year old force of nature, who looks after the trail and takes great pride in the mountain and the experience he provides to the people he guides. It was amazingly beautiful and provided a very varied and interesting trail of trees roots, rocks, boulders and gullies, while the forest sheltered us from the heat and a cooling mountain breeze through the trees provided more comfort as we climbed. It was our first time in a rainforest and to hike up a volcano. Wow ! What can we say □ Definitely left a piece of our hearts on this trip - to the forest and to O’Neill our guide, who promptly collected us from our hotel in the morning and expertly cared for us on the mountain trail. Thank you, to the local group who maintains this fine fortress, and to Lynn for taking us here. The British built the fortress to defend against the French and others the French claimed the northern top of St. There is a video in the Visitor’s Center, and a gift shop there, too. The fortress sits 700+ feet above sea level, and the road has many switchbacks as you work your way uphill. Lynn of Lynn’s Taxi & Tours provided us an island tour, and we visited the English’s Brimstone Hill Fortress, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, on the tour. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) for the first time in 2023, and had a great time. Keeping track of the last few lines of that file every time you have a crash might help narrow things down. Is there any indication of what’s causing the crash in Shotcut’s Log file? You can probably find it here:Ĭ:/Users/(your user name)/AppData/Local/MeltyTech/Shotcut/shotcut-log.txt Without more information, there’s nothing that the devs can do. There must be a reason why the crashes are happening, and as Shotcut appears to be working for a lot of people, there’s some combination of Shotcut and _ that is causing the crashes. I do not care to read another comment about how this program runs so much better on another machine, or it never does that to me, It happens, and it happens a lot apparently.ĭo not take this as a hostile thread, This is all coming from someone who has had about 10 crashes within the last 2 hours… and I have lost a lot of editing and has had to go back and do it all over again many times… So yeah, I am a bit perturbed… How can this go on so long, and with 5 threads (no joke, image below shows what the forum says my post is similar to) and yet we are ALL still getting crashes. I can even just leave it open a while, click play, CRASH. ![]() I can split a clip that’s not even 2min long, CRASH. I could just switch back from Facebook, CRASH. There is no reason these crashes should be happening, ESPECIALLY on a PC that can run anything you throw at it with the highest performance an overclocked PC can deliver.Īs for the reason it crashes, I don’t know… It just does at any given moment for any reason. My PC is also VERY capable to run this program like 20 times over (maybe more)Īnd I am sure that’s all you need to know. GPU Processing is disabled, I have my video mode set on 854x480, and here’s my other settings: I edit my videos pretty fast and I do save maybe every 2 minutes. Maybe it's buried somewhere else on the site, but if it is, it should be moved up to the front of the site, preferably on the main page.So I have a problem with Shotcut just crashing or freezing at random. One of those comparison breakdowns of side-by-side +/- images would have been a good starting point. Granted, I could probably devote the time to figuring this out myself, but it just seems like a lot of effort to learn something that should have been covered on the site. ![]() So.what does Shotcut offer that kdenlive doesn't? How could this task be made easier? Both software options can be used for commercial use, so what's the benefit of Shotcut over kdenlive? If Shotcut renders quicker, or supports more file formats, or makes it somehow easier to edit videos, I can see the appeal but there doesn't appear to be any introductory literature on their landing page or FAQ hammering these points home. Kdenlive is a little clunky in some ways, but it gets the job done and I was able to figure out the basics after watching a quick tutorial on YouTube. I use kdenlive to cut up screen shares and render them to webm I do occasional light editing work to make tutorials for people. If I were to switch video editors, having the program crash on me constantly is obviously a very big problem.Ģ) I didn't see any obvious language defining why I should switch to Shotcut. This is a really bad foot to start off on.Ĭan anyone speak to the stability of Shotcut? I see a few comments below mentioning crashes, I just can't tell if we're talking every month or so, or every 5 minutes. ![]() I get the impression that this software is extremely unstable across OSes. Here's a bit of feedback, in the event anyone who manages the site reads this comment section:ġ) I checked the FAQ and the 2nd and 3rd question in the FAQ were about crashing on Windows. Very possibly the sweet spot we've been looking for! And has exactly one contributor.īy contrast, Shotcut seems to be built on, and by, with a close correspondence between the runtime API surface and the file system representation of a file, and it's fully open-source. seems to give just read-only access to a lot of things at the TimelineClip level. Imagine creating a promotional video, then automatically swapping in each client's logo and re-rendering it for each one! The possibilities here are endless.ĭaVinci Resolve can't be beat for #1 and seems to support #3 well, but its API seems designed more for plugins than for automated authoring. be able to run on cloud hardware as a render service a well-documented timeline-level API for the file format that can replace, timeshift, and add clips and tracks, and a stellar editing UI for "prototyping" a well-edited video ![]() This is very cool!
